a trip to Kalijodo- Jakarta

A trip to kalijodo jakarta is a trip held by our church JPCC (jakarta praise community church). This is not actually F.A.I.T.H's event. but I just wanna share some of the place that i have visited. In Kalijodo-Jakarta, there are people living under the toll road with garbage, soil, and nothing to sleep with, their conditions are bad enough. about a year ago, after there are an incident of burnt toll road caused by the houses built underneath it, the government decided to wipe out all the houses that are build by these people living in poverty in the middle of Indonesia's capital city jakarta. These people are suddenly moved out and their home are wiped out with soil, and nothing left. What we do is once a month we will visit them, give food, medicine and a small church service for them. what we do is not much they really appreciate it and in return give us the most valuable lesson. For me personally they give me more than i ever give them, is the lesson of life, is the lesson to appreciate, a lesson to be grateful, and a lesson about life. In this page i will share some pictures that we took... enjoY...  :)

This is a picture of one of the kid that got tripped and do not have the medicine or band aid or anything to clean her scar. And so the only thing that her mother have is coffee and put coffee on her forehead to stop the bleeding.  Its heart breaking isn't it?
This is the place where we held our little service. just with a little plastic mat, under a toll road.
if its raining its really bad! all the soils get sticky and dirty :( imagine living there...

singing and dancing during our little church service. love their smiles. :)

a helping hand. giving candies.. small things can really brighten your day.

so, this is one of the things that really touched me, I personally learn a lot from these experiences. small things does matter, and you will never know how these people can actually give you a lesson that no one else can.

2 corinthians 9:7
each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Our vision

F.A.I.T.H is a community build to inform people all about poverty all over the world.
F.A.I.T.H stands for Freedom of Action to Influence with Truth and Hope. The vision of our community is to set up a community in which enables people with the same vision and concerns to share and to be encouraged to help those who are in need. The community is build by 3 young women from Indonesia, with increasing concerns about poverty especially in our country Indonesia. This community is based on christian perspectives although we do not limit anyone anywhere in the world with any kind of believe to connect in our community.

In Indonesia,  with a massive amount of population trapped in the circle of poverty Indonesia had a very wide gap between the rich and the poor. Half of Indonesia's 235 million population are living in poverty, in which most live on $2 a day and 18% livi with only $1 a day.  This is a major concern to us, as Indonesia developed into a more modernized country we wish that we can change the condition in Indonesia in the near future.  For me, I am most concern about the education in Indonesia which is very poor. Half of the population did not get the chance to even be educated, let alone be successful in their lives. They are trapped in the circle of poverty and have no where to go.

We are the people who are called to help them. we are educated, we are blessed, and we have the same concerns. so what are you waiting for?!  $1 might not mean anything for us (you can't even buy a bottle of water in the supermarket), but $1 means one more day to live for them. small things does matter, and we can start just by doing small things.
